Be a young person with knowledge and content

Whether you can't accurately distinguish your uncertain position, drift with the tide, do things in three minutes, give up halfway, and do something meaningless to your life with limited energy. When you want to do something seriously, you find that you don't have enough willpower to support it. If you have the above questions, you can take a look at the following methods to improve your willpower. I believe they will help you.

1. Use willpower on the blade

That is to say, a person with a large amount of willpower may achieve nothing if his energy is too scattered. Even if the total amount of one's will power is very low, one can create great achievements as long as he does not spend it casually and uses it sparingly. When we do things, we should try to concentrate on only one thing at a time. At the same time, we should pay attention to long-term goals. That is, we should first establish our ambitions, then write down several small goals, and implement them according to the plan instead of keeping them in mind. Multiple small goals should support each other rather than conflict with each other. Don't make strict daily plans, ask yourself what projects you must complete, allow yourself to be imperfect, allow yourself to fail, and also accept yourself correctly, and focus on doing everything well first.

2. Decision fatigue

Decision fatigue refers to the physical and psychological discomfort caused by continuous decision making. In short, the more decisions one makes, the more willpower, self-discipline and self-control one loses. For example, in the final stage of wedding procurement, you felt very tired, so you agreed to all the recommendations of the sales. After a day of online shopping, you compared several platforms, and finally chose one that was neither the best nor the cheapest. These behaviors seem to have no cause, but they may be caused by decision-making fatigue. When you have made too many choices consecutively, you will be mentally exhausted and unwilling to weigh the advantages and disadvantages, leading to a decline in the quality of decision-making. In the face of decision-making, we should know what we want in advance, make a decision in advance, try to eliminate the choice, and do not demand perfection.

3. Willpower can be exercised and cultivated.

1、 Sleep and rest. When people are tired, they tend to be inattentive and irritable. So after one or two hours of work or study, let the brain stop and have a proper rest. According to research, our brain is divided into left brain and right brain. Most of the time, we work on the left brain, because the left brain is good at doing some logical reasoning and work with conditioning order. Relaxation and rest can take our left brain out of the working state and give it a rest.

2、 Meditate. Training one's meditation ability is an effective and quick way to improve one's willpower. Meditation is very easy to do. You can try it. Through meditation, you can train your brain's concentration and resist the impulse of mind wandering. Research shows that if you practice meditation for 10 minutes, you can concentrate more, gain more energy and relieve stress in just two or three days. Don't abuse your willpower at ordinary times, so that you can last longer in an emergency.

3、 Master essentialism. Selection, discrimination and choice are the mental skills of essentialism. Essentialism is not how to accomplish more things, but how to focus on and concentrate on doing the right things. The specific approach is as follows: first, explore the things you need to do every day, distinguish between the meaningless majority and the meaningful minority, then eliminate them, get rid of the meaningless majority, bravely say no, and finally implement them, seriously do those meaningful minority things, and avoid being busy.

4、 Post utilization period. I still remember that when we were at the most important thing, such as the last minute of the exam, you would be highly concentrated and very nervous. The same principle research found that setting a deadline for yourself can also improve your willpower and efficiency. Make a list of what you need to do, set a deadline for completion, and then stick to it. As long as you continue to finish for two to three weeks, you will form a habit that not only can you finish what you want to do within the specified time, but also can free up the spare time to do what you like.

Roy Baumeister said in the book of willpower that willpower is a unique virtue of our species, which can make each of us strong.
